HOPE: Global is proud to be partnering with New Hopes Homes in Rwanda to assist them develop their services. New Hope Homes are dedicated to providing orphans and abandoned kids families and giving them a hope for their future. New Hope Homes provide a loving, caring, stable and nurturing environment where their spiritual, emotional, medical and educational needs are all met.
Children usually enter the homes when they are newborn to 5 years old. Each home has a widow that serves as their "mommy" for the ten kids and there are 2-3 young women who serve as aunties to help with cleaning, laundry and all the key chores. A night watchman provides a bit of security at night and a cook ensures they get well balanced meals. These kids stay in this environment until they are choose to 'leave home' as an adult.
This great organisation is run by Chantal Mbanda and her husband Laurent. They returned to Rwanda in November of 2005. She saw first hand that Rwanda is ranked among the highest child headed headed households in the world. She knew she was being called to make a difference. Four months later the first New Hope Home opened. Today they have three homes and eagerly await the opportunity to help give more children hope.
