Join us this Giving Tuesday

The HOPE Team - Tuesday, December 01, 2015

Giving is Tuesday is here and this year we would love our HOPE friends to pledge their support in the 2016 Walk of Hope.

Why should you get involved?

The Walk of Hope is Hope: Global’s annual fundraising event. Every February, hundreds of people take on the challenge of walking or running 10km to raise money so that teachers and children across East Africa and South East Asia can access a quality education.

A quality education is a powerful tool to change somebody’s future yet millions of children go through school and come out without basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Research shows that the most important element in a quality education is the teacher, yet many teachers in developing countries lack the training and resources needed to provide this.

Did you know that every year through our Education Program and its volunteers, Hope Global trains hundreds of teachers and has done so since 2006? As a result, thousands upon thousands of children’s lives have been impacted.

The Hope Education Program is all about partnering with local projects in developing nations, whether that be schools, NGO’s or churches with the aim to empower and equip local people with the knowledge and skills they need to transform their own communities and break the cycle of poverty. This is achieved through activities such as vocational training and building quality education.

We are so proud of the lives that we have been able to change and the communities that we have transformed across East Africa and Asia through the incredible work of our volunteers.

Every year Hope Global and its volunteers run multiple conferences across Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Cambodia and India and each time we receive testimonials from teachers that have been directly impacted by our training programs. They read like this:

“I have learnt many things from you that I will apply in my classroom and I am sure it will have great success. Among those things I can say I loved the games, songs, and methods of how to create good behaviour in our classroom. You gave a great amount of information and for that I thank you!” – Primary School Teacher, Cambodia

"At first teaching was difficult but since Hope Global started training me, my job has become more enjoyable!" - Grace, Primary School Teacher, Rwanda

By taking part in the Walk of Hope you too are a part of this life-transforming program.  Will you join us this Giving Tuesday and pledge your support in the 2016 Walk of Hope? Will you help us continue the life changing work that we do by getting involved in any of the following ways?
