Our Youth Ambassadors

The HOPE Team - Thursday, September 17, 2015

We are excited to announce that a total of five young, passionate and talented women have been selected for our Youth Ambassador Program!

Each of them bring different sets of skills and experiences to the program and are equally passionate about social justice.

As representatives of Hope Global, the Ambassadors will be involved in an eight month program, where they will be learning about social justice issues, poverty eradication and different skills to equip them as future change making leaders! As part of their role they will also be going to Cambodia in January 2016, to run Holiday Kids Programs and working with different NGOs.

We are excited for what the program holds for each of them. We thought we would take the opportunity to introduce you to them!

"Howdy there! I'm Abbey and I am very excited and privileged to be selected as a Hope: Global Youth Ambassador. The reason that I applied for Hope: Global was because of my passion for social justice and my interest to learn more about development and international poverty reduction. I believe Hope: Global will equip me with and enhance my knowledge, compassion and drive to help those less fortunate than ourselves. I am sure the experiences I will have, the people I will meet and the lessons I will learn will be invaluable and life changing. I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity and look forward to the next 8 months with such an amazing organisation." - Abbey

"Hey - I'm Jess! I'm 17 years old, I live in Sydney and I am so excited to a part of Hope Global's Youth Ambassador Program for 2015 and 2016. My passion for helping others and seeking change that have developed over the recent years through research and travel drove me to apply for this program. I can't wait to build strong relationships with the other ambassadors and work towards our amazing trip to Cambodia in January! Throughout this experience I hope to learn more about social injustice and work hard in order to have a positive impact on those are less fortunate than myself." - Jessika

"Hi my name is Bek, short for Rebeka and I'm currently in year 10. When I'm not in school, I serve in various roles at HOPE Unlimited Church on the Central Coast, and also work two jobs! I've now also been selected to be one of the five Youth Ambassador for 2015 - 2016. My desire to become part of a global mission against poverty and injustice in our world has been fueled by many events and experiences in my life and have led me to where I am today! I am very excited to learn new things, make new friends and have some amazing new experiences! A new season of adventure and bringing hope awaits." - Bek

"My name is Makenzie, I am in Yr. 10. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Youth Ambassador for HOPE: Global. I love to create art, any type of art. I love to act, to be someone else, to fall into the depths of a character of subconscious. My favourite thing of all is to understand people.  I am excited for the future that lays beyond my imagination. To see a hidden part of the world and to experience things that I have never experienced before. I can't wait to go on a voyage of discovery and learn new things, about new things. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help provide other people with what we take for granted. I crave change so great in my life and I've finally been given the challenge to do so!" - Makenzie

"Hi, I'm Brooke and I'm in Yr 10 at Green Point Christian school. I am so excited to be a part of the Hope Global Youth Ambassador program! The thing I am most excited about is our trip to Cambodia and the opportunity to work with SHE Rescue, an organisation that rescues young girls and women that have been trafficked or sold into slavery. This is one of the fields I would like to work in when I finish school. I am so excited for this adventure. What an amazing opportunity!"  - Brooke

We also say welcome back to Courtney, who went to Cambodia with a team last year with Hope Global and will now be taking on a Program Assistant role in the team. Courtney has a big heart for the people of Cambodia and working with the youth!

Our Ambassadors have just begun the program and we are looking forward to what is to come. We have an incredible journey ahead of us and would encourage you to stay tuned for more blogs, photos and Ambassador stories to come.
